Dr Penny Ovenstone joined the Blayney Veterinary Hospital team in 2015. Penny is very familiar face, having been born and educated in the Blayney District. Penny has always been active in the local community and was awarded Miss Blayney Showgirl in 2010. After school, Penny headed to the University of Sydney to study .Even as a student Penny spent many hours at the Blayney Veterinary Hospital whenever at home, while also working in a number of veterinary hospitals in Sydney while she studied.
On graduation Penny headed to a practice in Muswellbrook specializing in equine lameness and podiatry and then Penny looked for broader professional experience and moved to the Crookwell Veterinary Hospital. Here she threw herself into all the challenges a mixed practice has to offer; sheep, horses, cattle and alpacas making up the majority of large animal patients.Penny has experience beyond her years, having conducted pregnancy tests on thousands of cows, bearing accreditations for APAV, is Ovine Brucellosis Accredited, is a member of the Equine Dentist Association, has completed her Artificial Insemination and Animal Breeding Management certificate and of course is Hendra vaccination accredited.
Penny and her family live in the Blayney district.When not caring for young Tom and little Em,creating new gardens they both and continue to ride and compete on their horses. Penny is back working full time
