Dennis was born, raised, and educated in the Blue Mountains, making the trip across the divide in 2016. A graduate of the University of Sydney, Dennis completed his veterinary training at Blayney in 2015, and joined the Blayney Vets team in 2016. He had a keen interest in becoming a “mixed practitioner” so it’s no surprise that Dennis is happy to see all species, ranging from cats and dogs, to livestock, horses, pocket pets, reptiles and birds. Due to his South American Heritage, he has a great interest in Alpaca medicine, and is Blayney vets fluent Spanish speaker.
Having worked previously as a scientific researcher prior to becoming a vet (focusing primarily on water sustainability/management and native wildlife ecology) he understands the value of good research in the treatment and diagnosis of every case he sees in practice. Dennis is an APAV and AAV Accredited Veterinarian assisting with Government work for local producers and exporters in the region. He also holds accreditation for the NSW Brucellosis Accreditation Scheme (assisting farmers gain Brucellosis free status on their properties), Hendra vaccination, and has attended an Advanced Equine Dentistry workshop in addition to other veterinary conferences on an annual basis.
In his spare time Dennis enjoys long distance running, golf, and soccer in the cooler seasons, as well as spending time in his garden
