Surgery at Blayney Vets is carried out by our experienced veterinarians in our modern operating facilities, using the latest equipment and surgical drugs.
Surgical cases (especially orthopaedics) come to Blayney from several other towns as our veterinarians have a great deal of experience and considerable expertise. The orthpaedics is led by Dr Howard Thompson who is very experienced at the TPLO technique for cruciate disease and is able to repair the very worst fractures.Orthoapedic surgery usually involves a team- with at least 2 veterinarians involved.
When your family pet is anaesthetised for a spey, for a caesarian or for dental work.. we have the latest in monitoring equipment (we have multiple units to monitor such things as heart rate and oxygen levels) and multiple gaseous anaesthetic machines. Many procedures will have a second veterinarian personally monitoring the anaesthetic.
To keep our animals warm through complicated and often lengthy surgeries we have them nestled in the latest of heating cocoon units. We also heat the air they are breathing to ensure their core temperature is maintained.
While we are often doing complicated procedures we also do the routine and offer surgical desexing of ferrets, rabbits and guinea pigs.
